How To Register Dll Modules
Tue, 01 Jul 2008 10:47:49 GMT

A DLL file can be registered on the operating systems registry through a number of ways. The first way is done through self-registering. This process can be carried out by DLL files that are capable of storing themselves on the registry of the operating system. Once registered, these files can immediately be accessed by the applications that need them. Self-registering DLL files do not require human intervention and are the most common type of DLL modules. Another way to register DLL files is done through a set of manual procedures. These include: -Determine the exact location of your DLL file; -Click on the Start Menu and select the Run option; -In the Run dialog box, key in the word Regsvr32 followed by the path and filename of the DLL file enclosed in quotations before pressing the Enter key. (example: Regsvr32 C:WindowsSystem32YourFile.dll) After successfully registering the DLL module, the computer will show a message box informing you that the DLL file has been successfu lly registered. The registration of these DLL files is very important. A DLL or Dynamic Link Library is one of the most frequently used components of a Windows operating system. This type of file contains a collection of functions that consist of shared data accessible to several applications. DLL files are relatively small in terms of file size. In most cases, they use only a minimal amount of RAM resources. This means once a program is loaded, it normally calls upon a number of DLL files that can be utilized not only by the said application but also by other programs. In order for a DLL file to properly perform its embedded set of functions, it initially needs to be registered in the system. This is a process where the computer recognizes the DLL file and associates it with certain applications. This means it is very necessary for you to register a DLL as you would not be able to use its functions if it were excluded from the Windows System Registry.
Ntldr Is Missing
Tue, 01 Jul 2008 08:34:04 GMT

NTLDR stands for "New Technology Loader". It is the new loader for all Windows NT Operating Systems. It is the loader that actually loads the operating system from the Hard Drive. All versions of Windows up to Windows XP use this new type of loader to start the Operating System. This message is actually common and there are a number of different reasons why a user would get this message. Common Causes for "NTLDR is Missing" Computer is trying to boot from a non-bootable source. Corrupt Installation of the Operating System New Hard Drive has been added Hard Drive is not set up in BIOS Corrupted Boot Sectors Depending on which of these errors your computer is experiencing, the solution will be different. Here are a list of the most common ways to fix most all of the problems with the loading system. Make sure that your BIOS is set up to be booting from the correct type of source, (Hard Drive) and not a flash drive or a CD-ROM drive. This can be accomplished by re starting the computer and entering the BIOS setup and making sure the boot order contains the hard drive to boot from. Make sure that the copy of the Operating System you are using is correct and full, and does not contain any corrupt files. If you are adding a new hard drive to your system, please make sure that it is completely formatted and does not contain any files, because the computer can be attempting to pull the operating system from files on this other hard drive where the operating system is not installed. If your boot sector or your master boot record has become corrupt you can get this error. In order to fix this you must insert your Windows Disk and use the Windows Recovery Console, and using the following two commands: fixboot and fixmbr. Also, if you have just installed this hard drive and properly put the Operating System on, please ensure that the wiring is connected properly. Check all IDE, SATA cables and make sure that these wires are not faulty cables.

NTLDR stands for "New Technology Loader". It is the new loader for all Windows NT Operating Systems. It is the loader that actually loads the operating system from the Hard Drive. All versions of Windows up to Windows XP uses this new type of loader to start the Operating System. In order for NTLDR to function correctly it must use two separate files: NTLDR (Which contains the main boot loader) Boot.ini (configuration options for the boot loader) The "boot.ini" file allows the user to choose which Operating system they would like to run and startup. This file is usually has a hidden and locked file type attribute to keep users from either, accidently deleting this file, or accidently changing some of the values contained inside, because if these values are changed they can cause major problems when the Operating System goes to load. These files are usually found on the Hard Disk its self, but sometimes can be stored on portable media such as CD-ROM and Flash Drives. Windows Operati ng System Start up (Quick Steps) 1. Access the File System 2. boot.ini is read, and prompts the user 3. If NT based OS is selected, then the NTLDR reads the computers hardware information and starts the OS normally. If a non-NT based OS is selected, then NTLDR loads files from that is listed in the boot.ini file and gives this OS the full control.

Tcp Optimizer
Tue, 01 Jul 2008 08:29:49 GMT

A TCP Optimizer is a tool that is used to optimize the speed of broadband Internets such as cable and DSL. TCP is a protocol that is used for networking and it determines and regulates the amount of data (traffic) that can be transferred at one time across any type of media or host. When Windows is installed, the registry has been pre-set with a pre-determined value of how much data can be transferred via the network at any one time. So, by default all Windows with the same type of Internet connection will basically run at the same speed. What a TCP Optimizer does, is go in and change those settings in the Windows Registry to allow for a larger amount of data to be able to be transferred at any one time. Now a lot of optimizers will allow you to go in and set your bandwidth settings personally. (Note: I only recommend doing this if you have a lot of experience in the networking industry), because changing these settings in the registry can not only slow your networking speed, but if you change th e wrong setting, it can completely screw up the entire operating system. There are many different TCP Optimizers out there that will automatically change all the settings for you. All you have to do is input the type of Internet connection that you have (cable, DSL, dial-up, etc).
Download Manager
Tue, 01 Jul 2008 08:29:30 GMT

A download manager is for downloading files, as what the World Wide Web is to the Internet. The world wide web is meant strictly to browse Internet pages and various information. Where as a download manager is strictly designed to download and sometimes, depending on the manager you use, even upload files to a server. The good thing about a download manager is the fact that it has a memory, and can remember where a download came from, how big the file was, and how much of the file you have downloaded in case it has to go back and pull that information back at a later date. When you use Internet Explorer to download files, and your in the middle of downloading a file and the power goes out. You have to start downloading the files all over again, but not with a download manager. As said before, a download manager has sort of a built in memory per say. If your power goes out in the middle of a download, once your computer regains Internet access, then the download manager will go right back to where the download left off and continue on from that point. Also, with a download manager, it puts all the controls right in the users hands. If they are downloading multiple files, the user has the ability to pause certain downloads, to increase bandwidth to the other downloads, and then resume that download when ever the user is ready.
What Is Cell Phone Tracking
Tue, 01 Jul 2008 03:24:48 GMT

Most new phones are equipped with GPS (Global Positioning System) to be able to be tracked by the provider. These type of phones can be tracked by satellites that are orbiting the earth. These satellites used to only be used by the government to help during warfare, but over the past several years, this technology has been put to use in many new different ways. The basic principle behind the GPS technology that makes this work is the ancient practice of triangulation. If you're not familiar about this practice, it basically works like this. You use two very distinctive landmarks to mark the center position. The thing is you have to know the exact distance between the two landmarks in order to make this practice become accurate. Once you know the exact distance between the two landmarks, you make your self become the third vector to complete the triangle. GPS uses your cell phone with the GPS system inside it, and uses the satellite as its two basic landmarks. Based on how far the signal is away from th e satellite's relative position in the sky, a computer can figure the location of the device giving off the signal to within a few feet.
