Bismillah al-Rahman al-Raheem The Political Comment The Pentagon’s release of the footage showing five Iranian high-speed boats taunting US ships coincided with George Bush’s visit to the region. This visit came several weeks after the Annapolis conference that heralded the resumption of negotiations between the “Israelis” and the Palestinians over the final status issues. It seems that the release was designed to exert pressure on the “Israeli” public opinion and scare the “Israelis” into proceeding with the so-called peace process. After his arrival in “Israel” yesterday, George Bush talked at length about the Iranian threat and America’s unequivocal support for “Israel” against this threat. This compels “Israel” to side with the Bush administration in its endeavour to proceed with the so-called peace process. In reference to the threats issued by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinajad about wiping out the state of “Israel” off the surface of the earth, George Bush told the “Israeli” Channel 2 last Sunday: “If I were an “Israeli”, I would take the statements of Ahmadinajad seriously.” This was designed to exert further pressure on the “Israeli” side; so was the rapprochement between Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran, which was described by an “Israeli” official as being “bad news for the Israelis”.

The Concepts Of Hizb-ut-Tahrir 1373 AH – 1953 CE Fourth Edition --- Part 4 --- Bismillahi Al-Rahman Al-Raheem A Muslim does not bear the moral attributes for the sake of morals. This is due to the nature of actions. An action performed by man may be repulsive and yet he may perform it thinking it to be pleasant; also, the characteristic he adheres to for its own sake may be repulsive and yet he may think it is pleasant. This is where the error occurs when man observes morals just for their own sake. Hence, unless Islam defines the good attributes and the bad attributes, and unless the Muslim performs them according to this definition, acquiring these attributes would not be in compliance with the Sharia’h rules. Hence, it is prohibited for the Muslim to be truthful just for the sake of it or to be clement for the sake of clemency or to observe the morals for the sake of morals. He must rather bear these attributes because they are commanded by Allah and because they are based on the Islamic Aqeedah; this is the fundamental issue as far as morals are concerned and this is what ensures their concentration in one’s soul, keeping it free from any blemish and protecting it against any corrupting factors. Hence, the optimum way to protect morals is to confine them to what is stipulated in the text and to the spiritual basis and to build them upon the Islamic Aqeedah.
Political Comment - Partition of Iraq


Bismillah al-Rahman al-Raheem Political Comment The US Senate vote on the partition of Iraq has coincided with the preparations for the autumn conference which President George Bush had called. Although the bill is not binding on the US President, it however signals the imminence of the partition, especially since the US research centres have been probing and deliberating the issue at the behest of the US administration, with the aim of steering the American public opinion and tabling the issue for debate among the parties concerned, especially the people of Iraq. As for the preparations for the autumn conference, which Condoleezza Rice said would be “serious and substantive” and not just “another photo opportunity”, the US administration and the leaders of the region are engrossed in the bilateral arrangements and work is in progress to coordinate the stances, draft the communiqués and pave the way for other parties, such as Syria, Saudi Arabia and “Israel”, to engage in noticeable official negotiations. Washington is also working towards generating the mood that will enable the conference to achieve tangible results, by exerting pressure on the opposition in “Israel”. Hence, after his meeting with Condoleezza Rice, Ehud Olmert announced the existence of a “Palestinian partner”. He said: “For years we said there was no partner, but now all indications are that there is a partner.”

The Political Comment - Hamas and Fatah


Bismillah al-Rahman al-Raheem The Political Comment In the wake of the speech the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas delivered yesterday, it became clear that he intended to consolidate the estrangement with Hamas. He described its groups as putschists, killers and traitors who accused others of Kufr. It became also evident that Abbas did not seek to contain the rift when he confirmed that “there will be no dialogue with those killers”. The speech of Abbas was preceded by the suspension of the security forces’ activities in Gaza, and then the speech was followed by the suspension of the elected legislative council, thus making the PLO Central Committee the only “legitimate” body in the Palestinian territories. The peak of the confrontations between Hamas and Fatah last week ended with Hamas controlling the headquarters of National Security, Intelligence and Internal Security, several Fatah operatives surrendering to the Ezzeddine al-Qassam Brigades and the Executive Force and several top Fatah security officials fleeing to Egypt. The fierceness of some of the confrontations does not justify the rapid collapse of the numerous security apparatuses in Gaza had it not been for the deliberate intent to facilitate the task for Hamas to dominate the Gaza Strip. This is corroborated by the fact that Mahmoud Abbas did not issue any instructions to the presidential security to intervene, “Israel” did not interfere in the events and Condoleezza Rice contacted Mahmoud Abbas but avoided talking about the necessity to regain the Gaza Strip from Hamas.
