DSC launches $409m Village Centre
Thu, 15 May 2008 08:09:00 +0400 Dubai Studio City has launched Village Centre, a Dhs1.5bn ($409m) multifunctional entertainment destination for filmmakers and the public. DCS made the announcement at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in southeastern France. The free zone project, developed in a park-like setting in two million square feet of land at DSC, will include restaurants, festival retailing, cinemas, two outdoor amphitheatres, a 7,500-seater enclosed amphitheatre and two five-star hotels, according to a statement from DSC, a development by Tecom Investments, which is a member of the state-owned Dubai Holding. Largest media show set for November

UAE unveils new convention centre
Tue, 13 May 2008 08:57:00 +0400 The Abu Dhabi government yesterday unveiled a Dhs3.5bn ($954m) convention centre in Al Ain that is aimed at boosting the city's exhibition and convention business, reported Gulf News. The Al Ain Convention Centre, which will be located in Al Khubaisi, has a gross area of 275,000 square metres, of which 230,000 square metres are assigned for investors. Qatar wants 54 FM channels
